As old news goes, many knows of the release of the HGUC TR-5. Well, coming also soon to the Gunpla world is the HGUC GM Quel. This is especially good news for those who only own a MG of this suit. The TR-5 is currently priced at 2,400 Yen. The GM Quel will be 1,400 Yen. Which means that it will be around $13 or $14, which is a great price for the wait many GM Quel fans have endured for a 1/144 encarnation of this unit.

MSiA Hazel Custom Announced!

RX-107 "Rosette" Enhanced Land Battle Form

The enhanced land battle form of the RX-107 "Rosette" is a ground combat form of the RX-107 used when the Murphy Team assaults Karaba's Kamchatka base. This form is equipped with option parts so that the RX-107 can perform high-speed combat on the ground, and is capable of high-speed hovering movement. The optional hovering skirt unit contains powerful thermonuclear jet engines whose thrust enables the machine to float. Unlike thermonuclear rockets that generate thrust by consuming propellant, these thermonuclear jets use the atmosphere as (fuel? propellant? the term is illegible here), and thus have the merit of reducing propellant consumption and extending the mission operating time.

Last in the line is the Aswan

This lineart shows us ALOT about the Aswan's capabilities. It appears to have a docking craft at the top of the bridge. Its tail can act as a boom to connect with large MS like the Bigwig that is shown and probably the other large TTT units like the Keehar, Dandelion, and Fiver. Because of its position on the bridge, the Aswan's cannons on the top have been moved forward. There are a few other structural differences we can see between the Alexandoria and the Aswan.

The Boom that connects the front of the bridge to the MS Hangar is slightly different. The Aswan's appears to have "wings", possibly just reinforcement, along the sides while the Alexandria's lacks these.

The rear of the Bridge on the Aswan is modified for MS docking as well as the docking craft that makes up the top portion of the bridge. The Alexandria simply has two smaller booms and no docking craft.

The Aswan's boosters on either side of the ship have additional turrets on the top. The Alexandria appears to only have one on the top of each one and one on each side.

The most notable is the MS Hangar at the front. The Alexandoria seems to have one big door for the hangar. However, the Aswan seems to have a less streamlined double door design. This may be just the different mechanical designer's style, but almost all of the proportions on the Aswan seem wider than the Alexandoria. The Bridge, the side thrusters, especially the MS launch and loading deck. Still, the launch deck of the Aswan is still heavily modified from its Alexandoria Cousin.

Advance of Zeta Gunpla Contest
Official Rules and Details

The Rules:
This Gunpla Contest is open to anyone, member or guest, to participate in.
It entails all scales, from the 1/60th scales to 1/220th scale models
The entry must be themed or be based from the Advance of Zeta Series.
The entry must have at least one front shot and one back shot (of good quality) to be eligible.
Entries can be accepted after December 15th, 2005, and will be closed and final after January 15th, 2006.
Voting will be held until January 25th, 2006.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will have their kits displayed on the AoZ Wiki.

The Details
Entries will be submitted in the form of a new thread created in a Contest Entries Forum that will appear in the Toybox on December 15th.
Discussion about the entries is accepted.
The contestant can edit/add to the entry until January 15th.
Each member/guest can submit only ONE entry. Additional entries will make all member entry's void of the contest.
Any cheating such as stealing someone else's work, modifying the images (to enhance the model, backgrounds are acceptable) or anything else will be grounds to eliminate the entry from the contest.
The entries will be voted on by the members of the forum.

Today we've added a link to Titans Test Team Arc, one of the more unique English Gundam resource sites. Focusing on the Advance of Zeta manga series, it's one of the few general resources available for this series, and quite possibly the only one in English. Their message board is a wealth of information and collected images of the series' mobile weapon designs, and translated story synopses.

This board should be on everyone's list of valuable resources, so go by and let the people running it know that their work is being seen and appreciated.

Good Bye Seed Destiny

The final episode of Gundam Seed Destiny has just finished airing. This marks the end of the 10th Gundam Series. We can expect SEED 3 to air sometime in late 2006, but in the mean time, roumors of Gundam Seed Destiny, Special Edition, which like SEED, is the series compiled into 3 or more movies are floating around. Now what to wait for is Seed Destiny to air in America sometime late this year or sometime next year. For the time being, we wait.

Judging from an article from gunota, and several other resources. a BanDai representative may have spilled the beans on some future Gunpla releases.

To quote Gunota:
Over at the "Playing With The Collection Series Chaos Gundam" summary site, the webmaster asked a staff member at Bandai's booth a few questions during the Plamo Radicon Show:

Q: Will you be making 1/100 Gaia & Abyss kits?
A: If there's a lot of requests for them. We're currently considering the Infinite Justice.

Q: Will the HG series start doing DESTINY MSV?
A: After the end of the TV broadcast, we're considering MS that haven't been turned into kits so far.

Q: How about an HG or 1/100 Blast Impulse?
A: We're also looking at that.

Q: What about a kit of the Astray Gold Frame Amatu?
A: There's been so many requests, even inquiries through mail and over the phone. It's being looked into.

This leads to many speculation. On a Japanese forum, I've noted pictures popping up of the Gundam Astray Out Frame in solid form, and remember that the Seed MSV, including many Gunpla some thought would never come out were released.
Judging from the comments of the representative, this much is certain:

1: Gunpla may be dead in America, but it is alive and well in Japan.
2: A 1/100 Infinite Justice is a High Probability.
3: A little less but still probability of the Blast Impulse in HG Form
4: Possible Gaia and Abyss 1/100 kits.
5: High Probability of Gold Frame Amatu HG or 1/100 or BOTH! This leads to thoughts of possible 1/144 Gold Frame Astray.

Also, in other news, Pictures of a MSIA Gold Frame have been popping up. We all remember the Gold Frame pic from Toyfare, but since the American Line is dead, perhaps Japan will consider picking that up. Keep an eye out! A Gold Frame MSIA would make the Red Frame's rarity look like pebbles in a park.

TV Ashi's Top 100

Gundam Battle Stage @ TGS 2005

Gpara.com and Game Watch put up reports from Bandai's "Gundam Battle Stage" event at TGS 2005 promoting SD Gundam Gashapon Wars and the PS2 edition of Alliance vs. ZAFT. It's said about Gashapon Wars that "mobile suits and battleships from every Gundam work, from 'Mobile Suit Gundam' through 'Musha Gundam', will appear". More than 150 units in total.

Toru Furuya and Naomi Shindou showed up as guests. During the Alliance vs. ZAFT portion, Furuya and Shindou faced off with Furuya as Kira in the Freedom Gundam and Shindou as Cagalli in the Strike Rouge, resulting in a narrow win for Cagalli's seiyuu. Furuya was overheard somewhere afterwards saying "The Gundam didn't keep up with my reaction time."

East Japan Toy Trade Fair gallery

MIA Nado has photos from the 2005 East Japan Toy Trade Fair, including upcoming MSiA, GFF, and Cosmic Region figures. The pics at the top show off "UC Arms Gallery Vol. 1", a collection of diecast/PVC/plastic MSiA-scale MS guns & rifles to be sold in December. The weapon sets also have a Hayato Kobayashi Kennedy War Museum tie-in theme so in addition to the OYW, they managed to promote Zeta, too. Bandai marketing genius at work.

Voices Needed!

Hello all. I come before you to offer all you an interesting gig. A voice roll in an upcoming FLASH production taking place in the Mobile Suit Gundam Universe. This is non paying, but you will recieve full credit for your part, and any money made, pending, will be split and be used to pay the actors. We are currently seeking both Male and Female voices, and some cast my be sought elesewere, but if you are interested in contributing, here is what to do:

Email me with a sample of your voice, any accents you can do well, Name, email, and Phone # if you wish. Don't be shy! Many people have very low opinions of their voices, but it could be just what we're looking for! The Scripts for the first episode of this mini- Flashime Series has been completed, and apon completion of the film, it will be sent to one of several Internet Cartoon Sites. Production may several months to perfect animation, but we will contact you within a few weeks if you have been chosen!
Once Chosen, I myself will give you a reccomendation guide I was given a few years back to beginning voice actors, to optimise performance and to make the Audio near- flawless.

This project has been ongoing for several months now. The team of people involved have devoted much of their time and patience with this project. I will post more information as it comes. For those who submit, Good Luck! You could land a starring role in this new template for a Gundam Series!
